Neil Ridley began to join the whisky field in 2007,once as special editor of “Whisky Magazine”, he wrote for different kinds of publications.As a spirits columnist & consultant, his articles were released on “The Daily Telegraph”, “The Independent”, “London Evening Standard” and other spirits publications.

He was always invited as a spirits critic by many spirits TV programme to discuss some whisky topic .The most popular UK food&spirits TV Programme is Sunday Brunch on Channel4.He published numerous books about spirits, one named “Distillation”which collaborated with Joel Harrison awarded the “Best Spirits Books” prize and translated into different languages launched in the world.

Play an important role in Japanese whisky industry

56-year-old Fukuyo Shinji worked at Hakushu whisky distillery after graduating from the university in 1984. In 1992, he learned brewing whisky technique from his teacher, Seiichi Koshimizu, Suntory’s chief master blender. In 1996, he was sent to Scotland to conduct whisky-related research and worked at Bowmore Distillery in order to be the best whisky master in the world.From 2002, he returned to Japan to take up the position of Director of blending department and main blender. In 2009, he was officially appointed as Suntory’s 4th chief blender. Since then, he mixed excellent blending technique with Japanese unique natural sources and human culture to create one more Japanese whisky miracle with his team.

His works: Yamazaki single malts 1984 and Hibiki Harmony Blend awarded the best winners in the International Spirits Competition 2010&2017.Yamazaki single malt 2013 sherry cask was named the Best Whisky in “Whisky Bible 2015”.
